Jiménez de Aréchaga, Viana + Brause participated in the Conference organized by the Cyrus R. Vance Center of New York in Río de Janeiro on March 9th, 2016.
Virginia Brause, Partner of Jiménez de Aréchaga, Viana + Brause was invited by the Cyrus R. Vance Center of New York to participate as a Moderator at the Conference regarding Women in the Profession, that fosters the advancement of women lawyers in their career development. The conference dealt with the role of mentorship programs in order to reduce the prevailing gender gap and incentive feminine leadership in the legal profession.
The conference was held with the attendance of over 100 participants from 13 countries, representing 34 law firms and 25 corporations as well as other organizations.
Furthermore, Mrs. Brause formed part of the Steering Committee del Cyrus R. Vance Center de New York to coordinate strategies which may allow to potentiate the role of women lawyers in Uruguay, generating initiatives and programs implying actions which may bring as a consequence the hiring, retention and promotion of professional women, thus encouraging women status in their professional activity. Inter-relation of subjects such as Gender, Mentoring and Performance of Women Lawyers is one of the main subjects that the law firm is willing to address by means of the Jiménez Women Lawyers Program.
